Protecting Hawaiʻi's Land & Water for Future Generations
Serving the Kona Corridor with professional IWS design, cesspool conversion, and environmental site planning, from the initial evaluation through final DOH certification. One engineer, working directly with you.
"I put down roots in this community because I wanted to be closer to family and friends, and to do work that matters to the people around me. When I help a Kona property owner take care of their wastewater, it isn't just professional service; it's one neighbor looking out for another, and for all the generations who will call this island home after us."
— Matthew Jaroslawski, PE, Founder, Engineered Septic Solutions, Holualoa, Hawaiʻi
Meet Matthew →Every project managed by a licensed PE who handles the DOH permitting process on your behalf, from the first site visit to the final approval letter.
An Individual Wastewater System (IWS) is Hawaii's term for an engineered on-site septic or aerobic treatment system. Whether building a new home or developing commercial property, a licensed PE must design and permit your IWS with the State DOH Wastewater Branch.
Under Hawaii Act 125 (2017), codified in HRS §342D-72, requires every cesspool in the state to be upgraded by January 1, 2050. Cesspools discharge untreated waste directly into the soil with zero treatment, threatening the drinking water aquifers and nearshore reefs our community depends on.
Converting your cesspool is one of the most meaningful environmental contributions a Kona property owner can make.
